1, 2 Chickens, 1,2,3 Eggs

In these past few days a lot has happened so there is going to be a lot to write.  We are going to split this up into days so that we don't get confused.

Day 1:  This day did not start out as happy as we would have liked because we had to get rid of our rooster Clem.  The reason was that where we lived roosters weren't allowed because they might disturb the neighbors. However, the guy who we gave him to seemed nice so that was comforting.  We had decided that we were going to buy some already laying chickens from someone so we worked on making our coop bigger for the rest of the day.  At the end of the day we brought them to our house and named them Mary and Charlotte. We restlessly awaited the morning.

Day 2:  Disappointment. There were no eggs this morning and we were devastated.  We wanted them to have eggs so badly now.  But they just wouldn't come.  So we tryed to encourage them by buying wooden eggs to put in their nesting boxes and it worked!  I, Layla was scanning my eyes over the chicken coop when outside of the actual coop I saw an egg. It must just be a wooden egg that they kicked out of the coop I thought, but it was a real egg! It was very exciting. By the way, Charlotte laid it.

Day 3:  It is still Day 3 and not much has happened except for both of the new chickens laid an egg and I, Layla watched it.  I learned that they help each other when having eggs.
